Dr. Illya Hicks
Computational and Applied Mathematics
Dr. Illya Hicks joined the Rice Faculty in 2007 after spending six years in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University, first as an assistant professor and then as an associate professor. He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the Minority Issues Forum of INFORMS, the Mathematical Programming Society, National Association of Mathematicians, American Mathematical Society, the Society for Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. He has won the 2015 Presidential Mentoring Award, Rice University, among other honors.
